The new train station in Belgrade, known as “Prokop” or officially “Beograd Centar”, is the central transportation hub of the Serbian capital. After decades of planning, the station was completed as a modern replacement for the historic main station, which was closed in 2018. Prokop offers a strategic location in the south of the city, modern infrastructure and capacity for international and regional train connections. However, it is also viewed critically due to unfinished construction work and a lack of public transport connections. Despite these challenges, it remains a key project for the modernization of the Serbian railroad.
